This guy with apparently to much time/money on his hands took a brand new Polairs ATV and ripped out the old engine put on a jet turbine and now he gets 1mpg Ok well maybe more than that but who knows. The ATV can go 60MPH and puts out 1300*F of exhaust at 114db. But it sounds kool right?

Ok its time for me to make some changes to the website. So if you notice the site going offline and online again or anything like that dont panic! I am working on it!

So you bought that fancy new 3gs with its better camera and compass but now you cant use all the fun apps that cydia has. Well good news coming out of the dev team.

we were able to verify that the 24Kpwn exploit that the hybrid team used on the iPod Touch 2G is still applicable to the bootrom of the iPhone 3GS. That means we can use the same sort of technique used by our current redsn0w tool to jailbreak and unlock the iPhone 3GS.This is great news, but how did it happen?  Why didn’t Apple fix this in their normal cat&mouse fashion?  Well it seems this bootrom was cut in about the August 2008 timeframe, so the unintended early reveal of 24Kpwn earlier this year didn’t affect the iPhone 3GS.

And yes, ultrasn0w will be able to be used on the iPhone 3GS for you unlockers! (In fact, without any modifications whatsoever!)

Important: Apple has not given up on the cat&mouse game, and in fact there are challenging aspects of the 3GS jailbreak that aren’t in the other devices.  It’ll take some time to safely work these into our tools, but the fundamental weaknesses are there:  The bootrom is exploitable via 24Kpwn, and the baseband is exploitable via ultrasn0w.  (And just like with the 3G, ultrasn0w for 3GS requires that you not update your baseband when Apple comes out with new firmware.)

Now if my previous guesses are any indication I would say within the next week or so you 3gs guys will have your happy hacking going again.

Ok here is how to make the above work on t-mobile! [note this may work for other providers however I have only tested it on t-mobile USA]

Once your iPhone is jailbroken and unlocked you will want to do the following

Goto Settings>General>Network

Make sure Data Roaming is turned on and 3G  is OFF then go into Cellular Data Network.

From here enter in the following

Cellular Data:
apn: internet2.voicestream.com
username:
password:
Visual Voicemail:
apn: wap.voicestream.com
username:
password:
MMS:
apn: wap.voicestream.com
username:
password:
MMSC: 216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy 216.155.165.50:8080

Now reboot your iPhone and you are good to go!!! You will now have a little camera icon next to your message window on the sms/mms application.

AS ALWAYS TRY THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!! THE CHANCES OF SOMETHING GETTING MESSED UP WHILE DOING THIS ARE VERY VERY SLIM HOWEVER IF YOUR PHONE BREAKS ITS NOT OUR FAULT!

Ok this is a quick and simple one… Follow yesterdays post for jailbreaking and then you can move on….

1. Ensure you have upgraded to iPhone OS 3.0
2. Jailbreak your iPhone 3G using redsn0w or PwnageTool (this will also install Cydia/Icy)
3. Run Cydia or Icy
4. Please add the repo repo666.ultrasn0w.com to Cydia or Icy. That last “o” is actually the number zero “0”! If you use the letter “o” you’ll get an error.
5. Search for ‘ultrasn0w’ in cydia or icy and install ultrasn0w
6. Reboot your iPhone 3G
7. T-Mobile USA users should disable 3G before using ultrasn0w
8. Enjoy

Thats all there is to it! Now one minor issue I noticed. The phone may drop signal and regain it for the first 5min or so after unlocking. After that everything will work like it should.

One perk is if you were using a turbo sim like I was you may see better signals I know I did

Jailbreaking your iPhone 3G Firmware 3.0 [may work with other iphones besides 3gs however I dont know for sure]

TRY THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!! THE DEV TEAM WORKS HARD TO PREVENT BRICKING HOWEVER IT IS STILL POSSIBLE. IF YOUR PHONE BREAKS ITS NOT OUR FAULT!

Now that we got that out of the way the steps….

1. Update your iTunes to the new release
2. Update your iPhone to firmware 3.0 like any normal person would.
3. Once updated find the ipsw file that was loaded onto your iPhone [On vista it is located in C:\Users\LOGIN_NAME\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates/]
4. Download Redsn0w HERE [dont worry its safe ]
5. Extract redsn0w and run the program. Simply follow the instructions and you will be done in no time
6. Go get a pizza or drink its gonna take a while….
7. Enjoy your jailbroken iPhone!

Thats all there is to it your results may very. I had to do it 3 times before I got it done right but if you keep trying it will work

Ok so I have been very closely following the new iPhone 3.0 firmware and unlock method that is now known as ultrasn0w and so far here is what it is looking like.

The iPhone dev team is working hard to get it done… It was suppose to be done friday but the jailbreak was having issues with youtube and a couple other things that they had to get working and that pushed back the release date.

Now.. At this point the dev team is close to getting us some ultrasn0w goodness. There are a few last things to iron out like getting the commands trimmed down a bit and getting it all packaged and happy to be released. Once all that is done it will be released and as soon as it is you better bet I will be upgrading to 3.0 jailbreaking and running it within hours

So for now lets just wait and see
