The Wired blog has a decent wiki article on how to share your wifi with your friends in the neiborhood. There are a few suggestions I would have if you are intedned to do this.
- Use DD-WRT.
- In DD-WRT enable AP Isolation so that they cant access each others computers
- Create multiple access points [virtual access points] at least one that is secure for your own use.
- Block access to porn and warez sites
- Block torrents/limewire/p2p in general [keep your bandwidth usage low and legal]
- Enable a ad supported service to make a little money off it.
These are just my suggestions to add onto what they say at wired. And all of these functions are able to be done with DD-WRT. So google that 😉
