Self explanatory he modded the little tux looking lamp to make it powered by USB. Maybe needs some voltage regulators and such to make it a bit safer. But still it works 😉

What you want to do so that it does not make your LED’s burn up (done that before as well myself) I get some transistors and simply add them into the circuit so that way you don’t get to much voltage.
Make.com has many tutorials on transistors and such, I pretty sure even Hack-a-Day has some. You might want to check them out before you kill poor tux and his sweet LED’s lol. Also just so you know transistors are not expensive, if you have a Fry’s or a Radio Shack around you then you pick some up. I myself goto skycraft but im pretty sure that they only have one here in Florida.
