PSP as external monitor

Ok this is something I came across and will be testing out. If you visit the website below it has instructions and downloads related to using your psp as a monitor for your pc. Now keep in mind this is supported only for us XP users. [sorry vista lovers] And also not supported on x64. So if you are running on Windows XP x86 and have either a psp or psp “phat” with a custom firmware then check it out.

[Bonus]

here is a video of it in action

leanster = 1337ster? [3 wheeled bike]

This 3 wheeled bike is completely awesom looking if I do say so myself. It is the leanster by Brudeli [I know I have never herd of them either]

Apparently designed from a motocross dirtbike [the powerful KTM 690 Supermoto to be exact]. This thing tops out at just over 100mph and can run on just about any surface.

Am I the only one that wants one of these thigns?

Boost your wifi signal.

Who hasnt had this problem? Your wifi signal is just to damn weak for you to watch the latest por..erm…episode of csi on cbs or a video on youtube. Or maybe its to weak for you to even find it. Using a strainer you can boost that signal. I for one know this works as I did my own bench mark a while back and tested things such as a strainer and a old DishNetwork satalite dish. Overall its a fun little diy trick that was able to boos my signal from about 1 block [city street] to about 3. So hit the source link if you want to try something like this out. If not. Well have fun sitting there all lonely with out a good wifi signal.

Military thinks about thinking {Mind hacking}

think

So I was surfing My usual news blogs looking for news to post when I stumbled upon this interesting article over at Gizmodo (<3). Basically It says that the U.S Government is thinking about using telepathy to communicate between soldiers. Now I can think of some good pros and some very bad cons for this idea.

Pro’s
1. Better Covert op’s
Now our seals can talk to each other without making a sound. They can instantly send warnings if they are caught and make status updates to others.
2. Visuals? The article doesn’t really specify how this will all work but what if you could send visual images back to each other? No need for a damn camera anymore. The less our soldiers have to carry the better right?
3.Spy check
I know that sounds like something from Team Fortress 2 but hey If you can’t control what your thinking then it would be easy to tell if someone is a traitor.

Con’s
1. How will this send info wireless?
Its a good idea to think about this for many reasons, Jamming, Listening in, and possibly corruption. How bad would it be if you thought you were hearing your buddy’s thoughts and actually you were hearing just what the enemy wanted you to hear?
2. Visuals?
Again if there are visuals it could be traumatizing if you see your buddy die and think its actually you.
3. Its not happening for a long long time.
This is defiantly complicated tech and its not going to be realized for who knows how long.

Well I at least hope to see some of this in my lifetime but that is quite doubtful.

Story from : Gizmodo

LED Coffee Table is 1337. Plays 4 way pong!!

Hey MicroSoft put this in your pipe and smoke it. This thing pwns the Surface Computer. Well maybe not but it is still hella kool! It consists of 4 Atari controlers 65 microcontrollers and a huge matrix of 4,092 LEDs. I would love to have this. However I feel sorry for the poor solder gun that put it together. Check the videos below!

I wonder how long till this is on ebay 😛

Oh how far we have come [Ipod Timeline]

I know we don’t usually cover the ipod/apple/fanboi craze but I couldn’t resist this. While reading Gizmodo I found a post that had a iPod time line. Said time line is above. Do you notice a pattern? If not look again. Look at the more space, more battery life, and smaller size. While still staying in the same price range. See it now? Good give your self a cookie.

Wii Dual NAND Flash hack [Wii Hack]

image

So this isn’t new to most hard core mod chippers out there. This might be new to the suddenly blooming homebrew community though and that’s why im posting about it. What is this though? Well this is for extreme Wii hacks only. It is basically a way to backup your Wii so if you fuck up the NAND you can always keep a spare so-to speak. I myself probably wouldn’t do this right now as im not a Wii Dev. But for any Dev.s out there this is a great thing to have.

Via hack a wii

iPhone 650 [Treo 650 launcher]

Want your TREO or other Palm device to look like a iPhone? Download THIS app. Its kind of neat and I am using it right now on my TREO (yes I made this video no comments on how crappy my treo looks)

As I said in the video the only problem with it is the side media controls do not work atleast not with real player but meh I can live with that.

So if you have a Palm OS device then go ahead and grab that program.

[Sorry for the crappy video quality]

[Disclamer: No I did not make this program and no I will not buy you a new palm if you break yours attempting to use this or anything else we post on this site]

20,000 RPM Harddrive so you can have even more destruction when it fails

Whats that? 7400 and 10,000 RPM harddrives are not fast enough for you? Well a source over at Slashdot writes the following

“Western Digital seems to be preparing for the onslaught of solid-state drives set to impact its market by developing a 20,000 rpm hard drive. Similar to the VelociRaptor line of drives, the new drives are speculated to be offering lower capacity as a tradeoff for faster seek and write times.”

I personally would rather have a 1tb 10000 RPM drive than a 500gb 20000 RPM one. Then again I am more for size rather than speed 😛
